Many businessmen and women, actors, musicians, and athletes do this to maximise their fullest potential to achieve ultimate success. It is a daily habit that anyone can do, anytime, anywhere, but only a small percentage of the population actually do this.
What am I talking about?
I am talking about “The Power of Visualisation.”

What Is Visualisation?

Visualisation is a powerful technique of harnessing your conscious and subconscious thoughts, which will help you to make your dreams become reality. Basically, visualisation is a method of programming your mind into believing that what you truly desire is already real and happening in your life.

How Is Visualisation Used?

In my first paragraph, I mentioned that visualisation has been used by people in business, actors, musicians, and athletes to name a few.
For example, an Olympic athlete may use visualisation to help them to win a gold medal, or a business person may use visualisation to help them to start up their business.
Visualisation helps to increase confidence, improves focus, and can help to accelerate success and achievement.
You too can reap the benefits of visualisation, and after reading this article, you will be fully equipped to do so!

What Is The First Step?

The first step is to think of what you truly desire! (for the purpose of this article our vision is to gain financial freedom)
Now what I would like you to do is sit down, close your eyes and for a few moments, imagine what financial freedom looks and feels like to you.
For example, my vision of financial was having 6 holidays a year and having 3 cars on the driveway of my mansion.
Try to add as much detail in your mind of the vision of financial freedom as possible. Now I would like you to open your eyes and write down the details of your vision. The same applies to when you write your vision, it is important that you write down as much detail as possible. List the make of your dream cars and the names of your dream holiday destinations. The more detail you add, the more powerful your visualisation will be in your subconscious mind.

Here is a list of tried and tested visualisation techniques, that you help you to gain financial freedom!

Create a Vision Board

Create a Vision Board

Creating a vision board is a great way to embed your vision into your subconscious mind. Put a notice board in your bedroom with cut out pictures of various aspects of your vision to gain financial freedom. They can be pictures of your dream house, your holiday destinations, your holiday homes, and the cars that you will be driving to name a few.
For example, take a picture of yourself at your local car dealers next to your dream car. This will help to create a clear vision of reality for your subconscious mind.
I also recommend that on your vision board, you add pictures of as many different aspects of your dream life of financial freedom.
They can be recreation, personal, and also new skills and abilities that you will have acquired on your journey.

Index Cards

Using Index Card is a powerful method of visualisation can be used to nurture your subconscious.
Write down your goals that are related to your vision of financial freedom on small 3” ×5” index card. Keep the cards near our bed and also remember to take them with you when you travel. Each morning and each night go through the stack of cards one at a time, read the card, close your eyes, see the completion of that goal in its perfect desired state for about 15 seconds, open our eyes and repeat the process with the next card. This will help you to deal with the tasks and necessary steps required along your journey to financial freedom.

Use Verbal Affirmations to Support Your Visualization

An affirmation is a statement that evokes not only a clear picture in your mind but the experience of already having what you want.
Verbally repeating an affirmation several times, a day keeps you focused on your goal, strengthens your motivation, and programs your subconscious to ensure that you do whatever it takes to make your vision a reality
An example of a verbal affirmation is: “I am an online entrepreneur, who is destined for financial freedom!”

Carry An Item That Is Related To Your Vision

Carrying an item that is related to your vision is related is a great way of reminding your subconscious mind of your vision.
In 1985 the up and coming actor Jim Carrey drove his old Toyota car up to the Hollywood Hills on a quest to be the next rich and famous actor.
He visualised that he would be a successful actor and affirmed by writing himself a cheque for $10, 000,000 for “Acting Services Rendered”
He post-dated cheque by 10 years, dated 1995 and kept it in his wallet.
Jim Carrey did eventually make it as a Hollywood actor, starring in movies like Ace Ventura Pet Detective, and Mask. Just before Thanksgiving in 1995, he found out he was going to make $10,000,000 in a deal to star in the hit movie Dumb and Dumber.
This is a real-life example of visualisation in action.

A great book that I read is “Chicken Soup For The Soul” by Jack Canfield.
In the book, he explains how he used visualisation techniques which enabled him to attract his current wife after his divorce, and how he has used it to become a successful author. I highly recommend that you read this book, as it will give you insight into how much detail is required when are visualising our goals.

Visualisation Using The ‘Mental Rehearsal’ Technique

This technique is good for if you have a particular task that you want to achieve.
For example, it might be a vision of you walking on stage in front of 1,000’s people as you are about to make a motivational speech.
Athletes often use this visualization process, imagining that they have won a gold medal or broken a world record.
This method is used regularly by many of the world’s best tennis players who have achieved great success. Novak Djokovic used the ‘Mental Rehearsal’ to prepare for tournaments. He was taught by his coach to visualise his winning shots to the accompaniment of classical music.

Make Visualisation a Morning & Evening Ritual

Repeat your visualisation and affirmations every morning and night for a month and they will become an automatic part of your thinking that will be embedded into every part of your being.

Conclusion

Through writing down your vision and repeating your daily affirmations, you can achieve amazing results.
Visualization will allow you to change your beliefs, assumptions, and will make the impossible, possible!  They allow you to harness the power of the mind, by getting your brain cells working in a more purposeful direction.
Your subconscious will become engaged in a process that will transform you, and your way of thinking forever.
Using visualization techniques will enable you to:

  • Activate your creative part of the subconscious mind, which will start generating creative ideas so that you can carry out your vision.
  • Program your brain to more readily perceive and recognize the resources you will need to achieve your vision.
  • Attract people, resources, and circumstances that you need to fulfil your vision.
  • Build motivation to take the necessary actions to attain financial freedom
